Due to the cold weather conditions and higher demand for electricity, the MidcontinentIndependent System Operator (MISO) who oversees and manages the electrical grid system in our area has issued a public appeal for consumers to conserve energy until 10:00 AM Saturday morning January 24, 2026.

At this time, GMU has been generating since yesterday afternoon to help with the demand and will continue to do so until we are given permission to stop.
